Arched bridge interactive

Tese are the "light and strong bridges" that Leonardo promised in his letter to the Duke of Milan, Ludivico il Moro. They can be built rapidly with materials that are easy to find and carry such as small logs and ropes.
This type of bridge is made entirely of interlocking logs without ropes or tools. It is strong enough to support the weight of several people.
It permits rapid and unexpected troop movements across rivers, thus contributing to the element of surprise, often a fundamental factor in success of a battle.
