Mighty guardian Khro-rgyal stag-lha me-'bar

18th century


Khro-rgyal stag-lha me-'bar which means "the wrathful flaming tiger deity", is the wrathful aspect of the founder of the Bon religion Shenrap and the main guardian deity of the Bon religion/ The guardian has three large round eyes, an open snarling mouth and yellow hair flaming upward. The right and left hands are both upraised and outstretched holding gold wheels.

The encircling Buddhas are the thousand Buddhas of the virtuous Kalpa of the Bon religion.

Kun-bzang rgyal-ba sde-pa

19th century


Kun-bzang rgyal-ba sde-pa also known as Gsang-'dus, is the principle yidam (main deity) in both inner and outer Esoteric Tantric practice. Those who practice the Bon yidam ritual activities may extirpate the poisonous roots of the five anxieties and overcome all evil demons.

Byams-ma

18th Century.

The Tibetan name of this deity means "compassionate mother". and she is one of the Buddha-matri of the Bon religion. Those who practice the byams-ma ritual path can prolong their lives, increase their happiness and wisdom, and eliminate all suffering.

Founding Master Shenrap Miwo


Late 18th century.

Master Shenrap is described as the founder of the Bon religion in Tibet. His full name is Shenrap Miwo.
He was born in Zhangzhung in ancient Ngari in western Tibet. Some followers of the Bon religion believe that Shenrap lived at the same time of Sakyamuni.
